Bought laptop with Windows 11 w/ S mode enabled, cant get rid of S mode
I bought a laptop with no knowledge of windows S mode. I went to go disable it because it was annoying and refused to open anything not "microsoft verified", and it came with an error message "Something happened and we couldnt start the upgrade." How do I fix this error? I saw a forum on windows that said windows 11 or microsoft store could be outdated (it isnt), you might have your vpn on and its blocking it because of that (i dont have one), or the windows server is temporarily shut down, or something like that. I think the likely solution is to just wait and then try again but if there is any known solutions that would be very helpful

edit: realized this might not be the place for this but it would be great if someone can help

disable s mode through registry, not through bs ms account, going the ms account route will not work.

disable it through registry and reboot the pc.

if needed, you can search up how on the net or watch a youtube vid showing you how.

i have had to do this a few times for people who bought laptops with s mode nonsense, disabling it took almost no effort and worked perfectly.

Perform a full reboot, for starters.
