Downloading Steam Games affecting TV?
Whenever I try and download any game from Steam, my TV stops working and continuously buffers until I stop/pause the download.

It's when I pause/stop the download that my TV starts working perfectly fine again with no issues. I don't think it is my internet because I am typing this on my laptop and the internet is up and running just fine and my TV is currently basically running on the internet with it being a Smart TV.

I am really confused as to why my TV is doing this, I would love to watch TV as my Steam games download, I know it's not my internet with my PC loading just fine for the most part, including videos are loading on browsers.

I tried a couple things that might help within Steam, but it's not affecting or helping the TV. If anything, changing settings within Steam made my TV worse for some reason, completely stopping at a frame, and I'm afraid of changing the channel to another stuck frame as my Steam downloads are going.

I have no idea how to fix this without my TV being horribly affected and my laptop unaffected.

Yes, that's normal.

Steam is built to even obliterate gigabit networks.

You can limit the bandwidth use under Steam -> Settings -> Downloads -> Limit Download Speed. I recommend using a setting that is around 80% of your total download bandwidth. Please note that the number is in kilobytes, not kilobits. 8 kilobit is one kilobyte.

Your ISP fails to reserve bandwidth for IPTV, so you have to do it by yourself.

If your internet connection is especially slow, leave up to at least 1024 kilobytes for IPTV.

So I want to mention also that it only affects the Live TV on a single TV, internet and other devices (laptop, other TV's family uses, etc) are not affected, only the Live TV on a single TV.

Can I ask how do I know what my total download bandwidth is and how I can use around 80% of it? I see the Limit Download Speed option, IDK what to actually put in it.

As of current, doing a speed test shows '36.2 Mbps' for my Download speed, IDK if that's the total download bandwidth or not.

36.2 mbps is around 4 MByte/s.

You should limit your download speed to 3072 kilobytes per second so there is enough for live TV left. If you still get issues, go lower.
