Broadcast "waiting for a response from Maxwell_Edison" (THAT'S ME?????)

I'm trying to show my broadcast to non-steam-using friends via the link. But, despite my broadcast being set to "anyone can watch", not even having request to watch, but ANYONE can watch, it says my broadcast is offline. I try to go to it from steam, it either says it's waiting ony MY RESPONSE, or like, ""Maxwell_Edison's broadcast is not available at this time"".

I am using steamVR, so i suppose if it's trying to shift+tab pop up to accept, I can't see it. (WHICH IT SHOULD NOT BE, IT IS SET TO EVERYONE CAN WATCH)

I somehow got it working briefly. Was a miracle. Then I switched games and it offline'd the stream and refuses to come back up.


Steam basically won't let me start my own stream. Or, potentially, a stream at all. I am being mocked by this incompetent and useless broadcast system that's saying it's waiting on Maxwell_Edison to respond.. TO maxwell_edison.


Help. Where is the "♥♥♥♥ you steam you steam-ing pile of ♥♥♥♥, just turn on the broadcast and leave it on!" button. I just need an ON button. Just turn the stream on. JUST TURN IT ON.
