Steam won't turn on, and turn off from Task Manager
Hello.

My problem is following: I try to start steam after starting computer. It loads to the small window and checks for updates, but after that it just completely vanishes, nothing else than "steam.exe (32bit)" won't show up on task manager. No error codes, crash windows or anything. "steam.exe" can't be turned off, steam won't turn on even in safe mode. Internet isn't helpful as i've tried everything i can find.

I've had this problem for a while now, i thought it could be windows related and i reinstalled windows on a new drive and after installing steam again the problem is still there.

Could this be hardware related? Or software issue.

Thanks in advance

Try the unplug and replug them USB Device , like mouse keyboard and controller, i cant say its that, but other have solve the odd issue with steam before with exatly that.

ps.
windows event viewer why steam.exe crash.
or run it as admin , or add steam.exe to anti-virus exception rules might help.

yes and no, then restore a save point you actual go back and redo whatever update its needed, and other things can effect this also.

and you can actual find post with such restore system files from previous system files then it work last time.

but so many other things can effect this GPU Drivers to other things that you upgrade again and now you dont get the error.

just upgrade again, see it as a most untill you can proof a update issue, i could say he who dont upgrade can get into more issue then other things depend on its upgraded.

this is not a mecanic point of view, some have learn from the past, dont fix it it it aient broken. IT dont work like that.

ps.
see how many that dont update in security, get into trouble later.
this is not to point fingers, but seen as tough cookie then you dont.

Windows updates can cause issues, both software and hardware related including and not limited to previous settings been changed and performance issues with games etc.

You should run sfc /scannow from a command prompt (as administrator) after an update to check for the integrity of Windows protected OS files to search and repair errors.

Note : You can run this anytime not just after updates.

As a sidenote: - I use Macrium Reflect to backup my Windows install and do a backup when a new update is released BUT ONLY if the new update causes no issues. I can quickly revert to a previous working version of Windows within 4 minutes if a new update causes issues.
