Ship simulator extreme

Hi all,
Please can someone help.

I have recently purchased a ship simulator from my brother in law, but when I have tried to install the simulator it asks for the product key.

When I supply the key it then states its a duplicate and cant be used again, I contacted my brother in law as its tied to his account, he emailed steam and has had the key removed from his account.

I have tried again after removal from his account only to find it states the same, that its a duplicate key and cant be used.

Please could anyone help me with this issue?

Keys can only be used once and when used, they are bound to an account forever. If the user redeemed the key on their account then the game should be available in their library. If for some reason they removed the licence, they will need to restore it and then install the game the same way I just described. The key cannot be used again though so they must make sure they're on the right account.

activation keys are 1 time use only. the key is used, so whatever account it is attached to is the one the gets to play the game.

game keys cannot be transfered either

So anyone who buys a second hand game won't ever be able to play it? I wonder how many people get ripped off everyday by this?

Any game that requires a DRM cannot be reused. It's not a ripoff - there are lots of things in this world when bought can only be used once or by the owner and that goes for game licences. Developers/publishers don't miss out on sales this way and games remain largely affordable. There are also many PC games that can be purchased in deep sales.

Yes I get that. Just a shame. Looks like its going in the bin then gutted. I'll have to have a look on steam and buy it again.

Find the game through this site https://isthereanydeal.com/ and it'll tell you everywhere it can be purchased and the respective current price in each store. It also shows you its most heavily discounted price which gives you an idea how much it would cost in the sale so it may be worth waiting if you can only get it for full price right now.

Wait for the game to be on sale. Next one should be in less then a month.
Your brother in law can restore the game the same way he removed it.
