Remove incomplete downloading

How can I remove an incomplete downloading game from the downloading queue of my steam client app ?

Earlier I tried to do this by deleting the downloaded file from the drive where it was downloading and end up with steam client not launching issue .. and fixed that by opening it in offline mode and clearing download cache and re-logging it in online mode

So this time I just want to know the proper way pls help
