Quick Question: How to get "Offer a trade to..." button on your discussion?

^ that button. I am aware of how to get my "Offer Trade" link, but I want that button.

I seem to be the only one who doesn't know how to get this button on my discussion.

I've been looking through the steam forums searching for an answer to this exact question, because honestly, I have no idea as well.

It is very simple but for some reason, not easy to find it.

This is how u do it...

> Click YOUR profile
> Click YOUR inventory
> Click TRADE OFFERS
> Click the button where it says "Who can send me Trade Offers?"

There it displays the user-unique custom URL link button. You can use that url on 3rd party sites to allow others to easily share with you. It was not really meant for use on Steam, but u can still do that. Allowing non-friends to trade with you using that url.

I know what my trade URL is. but when I browse trading discussion posts, I see people with an actual button, not a hyperlink to their trade offer page.

You can find a trading forum in any game's Community Hub under the "Discussions" tab. Creating a topic there will allow anyone reading your post to send you a trade offer, even if they're not on your Steam friends list. Once you're done with your Trade topic, you can close the topic to prevent further trade offers from it.

Inventory Privacy must be set to Public to receive Trade Offers from trading topics.

that's the closest information i can get, and it doesn't really tell me that it makes a button for me at all.

so, I looked it up and I believe that if you just put the link on the discussion post, it should create the button for you.

Yes; the button graphic (Offer Trade to SteamUserName) is generated by Steam when using your url link on a 3rd party site.

I tried it in here and it won't work though.

However, the likelihood of that trade url link working when someone clicks on it; depends on your Steam profile privacy setting for your inventory.

To get that button the only thing you need is to paste your trade link (for example: https://steamcommunity.com/tradeoffer/new/?partner=8222522&token=YyVsIoJf) in your guide or whatever. Then you'll see the same button as in your image!

Is your discussion on an official steam page? If so, just paste your unique URL and submit and the button should be there.
