what is exaclty steam guard.exe? (I have been subject to phishing)
Somebody added me and said this to me "I am very interested in your objects I have keys but on my main, add me here:there was his link", I know I shouldt have clicked on it he was a scam and unfortunatly I dont remember his name.

But the purpose of this is I want to know what should I do with that steam guard.exe thing on my computer? I already deleted it with my antivirus and made a scan its says that my computer is protected and I changed my password. Can I do something else?

It's a virus to steal your account. Delete it, scan your computer, change your password, learn from your mistakes.

Remove the link from your post, "STEARN" "COMRNUNITY".

Was the malware able to run?
Not so protected then.
Also antivirus cant see unknown things/changes done in the machine.

you might find this question dumb, but how exactly do we know that the malware ran?
because I authorized the exe to download and then after I deleted it so I dont exaclty know.
Did you execute steamguard.exe after download?

If not, it did not ran. A virus scanner might be able to quarantaine it before execution.
If you did execute the file, it only copied your steamguard file to the hijacker. Delete the file, run virus scan, change passwords + security questions.
So you downloaded a file and immediately erased it after downloading?
Or did your antivirus said something?

I dont know how your computer is set..... I have seen malware videos where people press a "run" button in the download prompt.... might be internet explorer..... and well, thats how a download leads to an infection right away

You cant know by the name of a file what it does....

oh im pretty sure I downloaded it and then when I clicked on it to make it run my antivirus blocked it and deleted it.
Thats why its important to be specific.
If your antivirus is worth its claim, you might have been saved.
Yeah, you're safe.

No, I can't. But you can go ahead and list what else could have been infected. Not sure if it's a good idea to make every user paranoid over nothing. And guess there's no problem in this case.

But i am sure its better to not say, just THIS happened, while not knowing what happened at all...
