Whatever the reason he wants to know THAT might be, it isn't going to change the answer.

You can get their ip address, but they would get a visual and audio signal that you are doing the thing that need to do in order to get the ip address.

(Being as vague as possible there in case people want to do it for "reasons")

You also give it away when connecting to servers, so server operators can see it and also any P2P games will give it away (like MW3) because you all need it to talk to each other!

You can get peoples IP on Steam by adding them, and calling voice. They don't have to answer, but for a split second if not more, their IP will be revealed to you if you can snitch it with network software.

Not that you can do much with it, besides maybe looking up their ISP.

Ja man kan se andras ip via steam men det är som att hitta en annan på vilken hemsida som hellst däremot vet ingen typ om det, man kollar upp varifrån dem anslöt till hemsidan och bam där kommer ip fram. Det ända problemet är att jag inte minns hur det var man gjorde, och det var ett tag sen jag blev tvungen att kolla upp någons ip.
(Vet inte hur gammal denhär posten är, minns inte änns hur jag kom in på den!)
