Steam Flash Issues

Is there any reason why the steam installed version will not play flash for me, but when I go to the internet via IE, or another browser, it works fine - just in the installed version keeps telling me I don't have flash - newsflash, I do, and it works fine on the internet - and even on the adobe website, where it say congrats, you have flash installed fine ! :( getting very annoying having to go to browser to look at game vids

oh thankyou - glad its not just me (though obviously sorry for you too) - me also, it was working fine until a couple of days ago, so I'm guessing then, that it must just be an updated steam burp :) so much for progress :)

Have you tried installing Flash for "other browsers" or whatever it said? Worked for me!

yep - firefox ahoy - nada :( - like I noted I even went to the flash installler page and checked it was working - from both browsers and it said it was okay - I am just guessing something got broke and another update to steam later might fix it - its just a tad annoying, but hey its all good in the long run :)

I have the same problem, tried all the fixes suggested and it still does it.

Try this fix:

1 - Go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
2 - Select " Windows 7 / Vista / 2008 / 2003 " ( or whatever it is your system )
3 - Select " Flash Player for Other Browsers " <-- Make sure you choose "Other Browsers"
4 - Untick any bloatware that shows up ( McAfee, Chrome, etc )
5 - Download & Install
6 - Restart Steam

This issue was caused by last Steam Update. This fix worked for me and lots of other people but if for any reason doesn't work for you, you can watch videos and pictures in Big Picture Mode, while you wait a fix from Valve.

I've had the same issue since the update and it's absolutely positively not the fix someone posts every single time this thread comes up lol..

Yeah the issue persists. All that can be done is waiting for valve to do an update or something.

yep tried it - no fix - so will wait, in hope, for the next update to fix it - I had a trawl of the discussions, and jackbelt67 is right, this seems to be the fix suggested on many occasions - but it does not work for all, so seems to be a glitch somewhere in the coding - perhaps linked to peoplee hardware profiles v software installs - who can say, all I know is the suggested fix does not work for me, and so continues to annoy :)
