Folder missing in userdata?
Hello
So I wanted to play a game and I can start it but it won't let me create save data and tells me my system data is corrupted. The game is La-Mulana 2.
After trying several fixes, I got to the point where I wanted to delete the cloud saves, however I noticed that the games folder under userdata/accountID is completely missing. There is no folder with the games App-ID, even though i've played it and have cloud saves of that game, because I played it.. all other cloud saves are there, except this one.

How can I fix this? Even reinstalling Steam didn't bring back the folder + it refuses to re-create the folder. Shouldn't it be created at game start if it's not there?

I cannot play the game like this as it tells me it can't save/create save data. Help Please!

Is the folder not located in \AppData\LocalLow\NIGORO\LaMulana2 ?

Thats the normal savegame folder, i'm talking about the folders created under Steam/userdata/accountID, it's the folders where the remotecache and remote folders are located, that one is missing for La-Mulana 2, but only for that one and i'm guessing that's why the game can't access the cloud saves nor create cloud saves. I've tried deactivating cloud sync, it didn't really help though. Also the normal save game folder is empty

I have the exact same issue but in a different game (DOOM (2016))

Not all games create saves there. Disable Steam cloud for that game, create a new local save, play, enable Steam cloud afterwards.

the game doesnt have option to change save location. My game saves to "My Games" instead of "Saved Games" so maybe thats the issue for steam cloud?

I wonder why it saves in the wrong place though

Not at all. That's got exactly 0 to do with Steam cloud.

What EXACTLY is your issue?
Pawlogates Dec 25, 2020 @ 12:54pm
The wrong saves location definitely can be the issue for steam cloud as every game save folder stored in the cloud, has an information of its original location tied to it.

DO YOU HAVE AN ACTUAL PROBLEM? Does your game not save, canm you not load, have you noticed how Steam indeed can't synchronize your saves to your Steam cloud? You're not a government official, are you?

my game ID folder of the game - DOOM literally doesnt exist in the userdata folder, and steam cloud doesnt work for this game completely

How does it not work? Does Steam not show "uploading" after you quit the game?
Pawlogates Dec 25, 2020 @ 1:04pm
yep, the game name in library flashes blue for about half a second after quitting, but nothing actually happens, meaning steam cloud doesnt detect any saves

No, it doesn't mean that. Not in the slightest.
How exactly do you detect Steam cloud not working? Are there no saves online? Have you checked?
