Some games crash on launch! (Portal 2, Dota 2, Darksiders 2, Fallout 3 GotY)
Hello, I have this issue where some games wont launch on my PC and no matter how many solutions I have tried they won start (Portal 2, Dota 2, Darksiders 2, Fallout 3 GotY) and I start to wonder if it is an issue with my PC, which I think there is low probability because I did a clean windows install couple of months ago, my windows is activated with latest updates (Windows 10 Pro 64bit) version 1909, also I have 36 total games installed on steam from 100+ that I own, and I run those games without any issue (games: ARK Survival, Bioshock, Borderlands 2, Cities: Skylines, Conan Exiles, DayZ, Dead Island, Destiny 2, Dirt Rally, Dirt Rally 2.0, Dishonored, Dishonored 2, Dying Light, Skyrim, ETS 2, Fallout 4, The Forest, GTA V, Grid 2, Kerbal SP, Kingomd come: Deliverance, Mad Max, No Man's sky, PoE, PAYDAY 2, PC Building Simulator, PUBG, Project Cars 2, Resident Evil, Rainbow 6 siege, Rust, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider, Torchlight 2), I also have other game launchers and I have in total 3500GB of games that I play and have no issued with any of those games, so I am not sure if the problem is on my end.

Here are my PC specs:
Intel i7 8700
Asus ROG STRIX B360 F-Gaming
16GB DDR4 2666mhz
MSI GTX 1070 Ti Gaming (Running on stock clocks!), latest drivers 445.87 installed with DDU.
Windows 10 Pro 64bit, with latest updates installed on Samsung 850 EVO SSD
2 HDD - 1TB WD Blue, 2TB Seagate.
Desktop Resolution: 2560x1080 native, 21/9, 144hz, monitor model: LG 34UC79G-B

Nothing in my PC is overclocked, no component is overheating, CPU max temp 60, GPU max temp 64, motherboard temps are normal! Also there is no Antivirus program running.

Here are the issues of each game and what I have tried:

DOTA 2 (SOLVED! READ THE COMMENTS BELOW)
I downloaded it yesterday and when I launch it, it automatically closes on the dota 2 logo screen, no errors just closes. I did play dota 2 on this same PC an year ago, and I had no issues but I did uninstalled it because it was updating daily. I tried few solutions, verified the game files couple of times, I did set launch options: -opengl and when I did it the game did reach the main menu and it crashes there now after couple of seconds, even if I remove the -opengl it still reaches the main menu now and crashes there. I also tried running it as administrator and as windows 7, it didn't help. Before it crashes I manage to press settings to see if v sync was on and it wasn't. I also tried running it -windowed and it made no difference, I also tried switching my resolution to 1920 x 1080 still it didn't work.
I also started a discussion in the Dota 2 discussions and found other users having the same exact problem as me.

Portal 2
A family member shared me this game to play it with a friend and when I launch it crashes with my desktop visible but not responding, I have to log off user or restart PC in order to kill the process, because when I CTRL + ALT + DEL there is no mouse cursor to kill the process, when I run it -windowed I can kill the process but it still crashes the same way with a white screen, no errors. I have tried all the solutions I tried with dota 2, I also tried setting up different resolutions through the launch options -w 1920 -h 1080, because some said it was because of my Ultrawide monitor but it didn't help, I also tried a lot more solutions and nothing helped. I also logged in with the steam account that the game is on to see maybe because it was shared, and this was the first game I tried that feature an year ago, but still it didn't run from the original account as well, while my friend runs the game without any issues, and I did play it again with him last year on this same PC, but I had a different CPU i5 8400 and different monitor, 1920 x 1080 not ultrawide, and the game was shared from family member even back then. So maybe there is something with my new monitor resolution, although my friend tried to set his Portal 2 to run in ultrawide with the launch options -w 2560 -h 1080, and it did run on his PC with that resolution.
I also just decided to buy it from steam to install it again to see if that is going to help at all and now I am downloading it.

Darksiders 2
I did get it free on another platform sometime ago and I wanted to revisit the game now when we are in quarantine, I downloaded it on that launcher and when I pressed play the game didn't even launch, I tried few things they didn't work so I uninstalled it and bought it for steam, downloaded it for steam 2 weeks ago, and when I launch it and it reaches the main menu after couple of seconds it crashes same as Dota 2, I tried tons of solutions and all mentioned above, and nothing helped. 2 days ago I even shared it to a family member and he downloaded and installed it and it did run without an issue on his PC. I also tried disabling steam overlay which was the issue for many but it didn't help me.

Fallout 3
It just doesn't work from the day I bought it, I think it is not compatible with windows 10, I tried ton of solutions and nothing helped.

If anyone knows why and how to fix my issued please share, I really want to know why these specific games don't run on my PC.

Okay after a a lot of hours yesterday I did manage to fix Dota 2 so I will share the solution if anyone is even reading this topic.

DOTA 2 PROBLEM:
The problem tha was causing the issued is Directx9 in my case, the game can't run in DX9 mode even after I did reinstall/update my DX9, probably this issue is caused by one of the many games that I have installed added an old/broken/buggy DX9 that doesn't work properly, the solutions are 3.

1st and easiest:
Run the game at DirectX11, to do that just Right Click to Dota 2 on steam then Properties and on the General tab click "Set Launch Options" and type there -dx11

2nd solution if case the first one doesn't work.
Go to Dota 2 DLCs and download OpenGL support which is around 800mb, after it is downloaded and installed right click again on Dota 2, Properties in the General tab click "Set Launch Options" and the type there -gl and the game should run with OpenGL.

and 3rd solutions is to download Vulkan from Dota 2 DLCs and install it then set launch option
-vulkan.

Having the same issue with Portal 2. Mine crashes out of game and freezes steam.
I tried the Set Launch Options to dx11 and it seems to be working better now. Might require more play to know for sure. I tried L4D2 and HL2 to see if those had issues. Being that they use the same engine I thought they would, but they work fine so far.
