PS3 controller vibration not working

I got my dualshock 3 to work natively with Steam with these steps (https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamController/comments/90dqov/guide_dualshock_3_on_steam_windows_only/) but the rumble motor won't activate in any games. Is this a known issue?

If you have the PS3 that has rumble support, then you want to emulate it as a Xbox 360 controller.

Sorry for the necroposting. But I stumbled upon some strange situation. I was playing Final Fantasy 15 and my PS3 conto was emulated as PS4 and vibration worked. I have NO idea how i managed that, because I remmeber Big Picture mode acting strangely with interface scattered around and detecting my pad different ways. And now, it's either rumble working or xbox icons ingame. Have you came up with different way to make rumble work on PS3 conto?

Not really. I still don't understand how it worked. Big Picture is so unstable and unfinished, its crazy.
