script for switching accounts?
Hi everyone.
Recently I asked a friend of mine to find me a red dead redemption 2 steam account and he talked to his friend and I've been playing a few days now.
The problem is that I have to change to my account each time I wanna play with my friends and the account my friend gave me has Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator activated on it.
I can't ask my friend to ask the owner for the codes each time I wanna login so I searched google for a solution.
Someone has created some type of script or .bat file to switch between accounts and skip the authentication part.
The instructions on the script is as follows:

set username="your account username"
reg add "HKCU\Software\Valve\Steam" /v AutoLoginUser /t REG_SZ /d %username% /f
reg add "HKCU\Software\Valve\Steam" /v RememberPassword /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
start steam://open/main

now I just wanna know if this is gonna cause any problem to either of the accounts if used.
P.S : I'm only playing RDR2 on offline mode of steam and I'm not interested nor playing the multiplayer part.

There's also short launch option -login https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5623-QOSV-5250

The main issue with doing the method you mention and this is it reveals your password to anyone with access to the script or shortcut.

I'm not sure if RDR2 supports family share, you may want to look into that if it is an option.

account sharing is not allowed. if its not your account, you should not be logging into it. doing so is a violation of the SSA and grounds for all related accounts (Yours and theirs) to be locked/terminated.

Yes, as Wolf above has explain this is agasint the SSA agreement everyone has agreed when you sign up to Steam, that means by making the Steam account, you're not allow to sell your Steam account, renting out your Steam account, nor giving away, or lending your Steam account to others.

Buy the game on your own account

Transferring/sharing in that fashion WILL cause eventual issues as it is a violation of the Steam Subscriber Agreement
