you most use Full performance in power scematic, and it dont help then disk is apox under 20 to 10% free space, this is know by harddisk experts it will take long to dump data.
and this is not the first allocate disk space. issue on steam and many mixup desktop pc with laptop ( huge mistake )
and many harddisk at laptop is not so fast as many think. ( but atleast you already notice this. )
ps.
there is actual nothing you can do, other then minor settings, watchout for big swapfile.
depend on system ram, and it dont make a huge resizeable file , maybe better to make 8192 - 4096 if that is ram size. ( this is to reduce bottleneck on disk, the bigger the swapfile the longer it can take to catch up, )
ps.
also consolidate free space, but if SSD then it dont matter,
there is iobit smart defrag, but thats is just minor help
so yeah welcome to laptop Limitation ( and i doubt you dont have harware issue, other then slowness )
Everyone who's ever said pre-allocation 'takes too long' has had local problems. Either with some bizarro land raid driver that is drunk, or their anti-virus was constnatly stalling the preallocation making it take forever
