issue with my monitor(Blur, Aliasing, Graininess)
I'm having an issue with my monitor where, after a month of use, objects started to blur, the further away they are, the worse it gets. There's also an aliasing effect even with anti-aliasing on in games, something akin to graininess. It's as if my 2K monitor has switched to a non-native resolution, or it feels like there are fewer pixels on the screen.

I've suspected the video card, the power supply unit, and just about anything else, but then I remembered experiencing the same issue with my old laptop a month after I bought it. My workstation hasn't changed, and it's the same power outlet I've been using for years. My colleague in the next room isn't experiencing any issues, and there are no such problems with another monitor. Honestly, I'm at a loss about what it could be. Has anyone encountered this or knows how to fix it?

Role back to previous GPU driver as test, if you think it was not there in the past.

You can also ask GPU card support what is wrong, i only know fresh driver install as last option.

I've tried installing around 6-7 different versions of drivers, including Studio ones, both the newest and very old ones, unfortunately, it didn't help to solve the issue.

When you use one of your monitors on another system, are the monitors blurry?

I mean it's not very likely the system is killing monitors, so the question still remains is it the monitor(s) or the system. Even if the system was damaging monitors, it's not as if those monitors would in turn also damage other systems.

Also i can connect my monitor to an old laptop and see what happens.

Yes. Try the affected monitors on another system if you can. It's not too difficult to do, but it's solid troubleshooting. Guesses and theories are fine, but at some point figuring out how to do the work to test those theories so you can narrow down and identify the problem is the name of the game: troubleshooting 101.

And in general it's best to do the easiest stuff first, because if you do it last, well, you're not going to be giving yourself a medal for that. Testing the screen first and ruling it out is going to be the simplest first step.

We can only tell you check Brand Monitor support page, if they have made such, or just use windows signed driver.

Here are screenshots if you're interested. All game settings are cranked up to ultra. It's especially noticeable with the doors in Prey, they appear uneven, and there's a noticeable stair-stepping effect. I experience the same thing on my desktop and on the internet

I mean nothing in those screen shots appear wrong to me. The screenshots look like what you see on your screen?

I dunno, you might be overly-sensitive to details and once you see an imperfection it's hard to un-see it. I've got that a bit myself.

The biggest issue I see is color banding, but I'd be willing to bet you saved the psychonauts screenshot at least as an 8bit png? Or are you running in 16bit color by chance?

8bit png. Could such a disaster with the monitor be due to poor and low-quality electricity? If I had the same problem with the previous monitor and a different video card.

Several years ago, they changed the outlet in my room, and I'm thinking that's when it all started, but I'm not entirely sure.
Hmm could OP have enable one of them windows effect, night view or glow or them things that effect all on profile,

Even monitor has cold hot settings and stufff like that, and yet it dont seem to fit here.

You might wan to make a test with login with new windows user and see if that actual made a diffrence, new windows user is same as use Original windows without all them option you did, or have now.

We did not say it is this, we try debug why you see this.

I'm sure they other helper here can see a good point, with where do it come from.

And you can also go other way a friends lap that dont have this test your monitor.

Do not ruleout cable is is attached correctly or not damage, things we normaly dont suggestion as first choise.

Did you switch to a bigger monitor? resolution appears grainy when the monitor is too close with your eyes, imagine a big one if that's the case. Try to render the game or whatever in higher resolution. I switched from 4k 27" monitor to 2k 32" and it appears grainy to me and aliased (pixelized). If you have AMD GPU go to display settings(in adrenaline) and enable Virtual super resolution. Then change windows resolution to higher than native. This will help you

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
