Additional launcher requirement

Is there any way to find out if additional apps need to be installed to run the game on the game's Steam page?

Since there is a free weekend of midnight ghost hunt going on right now, I started the download. However, very quickly in the reviews I saw that the game requires epic games launcher to be installed, which I absolutely do not want to do. Good thing it was a free download, but if it had been a purchase I would have had to write to support for a refund.

Store pages may mention it, but ultimately if you have detailed questions about mundane requirements you'll have to do that research yourself. After all it doesn't seem like you had trouble finding the epic requirement straight away.

Well, there are plenty of games that use the Epic Online Services[steamdb.info], and you do NOT need to have their client installed.

It does not require EGS installed. The people saying that, are stupid and should feel stupid.

EOS is NOT the Epic Launcher. It is a built in component of the game for standard multiplayer and server side features. Same thing as Steamworks from Valve or Azure PlayFab from MS.
