Sharing games within family
Games been bought and own on my steam account, we setup steam family, both PCs authorized, we both logged in on both PC so the Steam client has our info on both machines.

However is there any possibility that when my wife plays game X from my library(on her profile) and I want to play Y (from my profile), then she will not be kicked out from playing?

You must Opt-in to the STEAM BETA FAMILIES via Steam settings, once you're opt in to that you can access the NEW family share, PLEASE NOTE HAVE TO DO THIS FOR ALL DEVICES if you plan to do new family share with said family members. That meant going to other family members PC, opt them into STEAM BETA FAMILIES as well so they can also access the NEW family share.

FYI BEFORE SMASHING BUTTONS READ THIS.

- If YOU, or SOMEONE leaves the GROUP then YOU, or SOMEONE is placed on 1 YEAR COOLDOWN means you CAN'T join another GROUP. ALSO THAT SLOT IN GROUP IS LOCKED IN FOR THAT 1 YEAR AS WELL. The person that leave the group can return to the group.

- There are TWO invite types, ADULT and CHILD so when you click invite it askes which ones do you want to label other person account as in the group, adults there is NO game filtering, you share all games, for child you can filter the games, or even not share any games with said child account, as well set parental control on child account. All adult accounts can make changes to child account for parental control, as well kick anyone in the group. Child can make requests which have notice for child wanting permission approve.

So if you plan to share account with own kids, and want to limit what games you want to share you must set them as child when you invite their account, that simple.

The old vs new family share.
- Old way you can only share one library with person that meant if bob plays jim games, shara can't play jim games until bob done. If jim start playing anything it auto kick bob out of game giving 5 mins warning before kick.

- New way you can only share X amount of copies in group, let say 3 people in group, only one person owns half life, ONLY one person at a time can play the game, now everyone else can play whatever game, and there no issue this is the new change that better than old way not being restricted to one library at a time, now if two people owns half life, then TWO people can play half life at a time, and 3rd person has to wait, or play something else.

Only one user can access a game library at any given time. That limitation has been there since day one of family share.
It most likely will not change to combat fraudulent game renting services.

In the beta client, using Steam Families, you can both play different games at the same time.
