I can't get neither Dualshock 4 or DualSense (PS4 PS5 controller) to rumble through Steam

All of my Sony controllers no longer rumble after the latest steam client update. They all used to work when clicking on Rumble test in the client. None of the game that supports DualShock and DualSense rumbles when launch in steam so it is the client's problem. Please fix this bug.

I was able to test the rumble using external website and games from Epic store which means the controllers are not the problem.

Strangely it does work when using steaminput for games that are not supported but games that support Dualshock and Dualsense don't rumble the controller at all.

Games that don't rumble:
Horizon Zero Dawn
Dave the Diver
Stardew Valley

Steaminput games that rumble
Cult of the lamb

Is there anything we can do to fix this? This all used to work before.

I have the same problems. What annoys me more than the fact that the controllers stopped working overnight is not knowing to what extent the problem is known and when there will be a solution.

I got a new solution

When I test with DS4 and DS5 nothing works but then IF I PLAY STARDEW VALLEY it came back to having rumble both in that game and in steam.

For Dave the diver, after launching stardew it actually starts vibrating!!!! wtf oh and for dualsense only when wired, bluetooth doesnt vibrate in dave but in stardew. sooooo weird wtf are they doing over there lol
