Meta Quest 3, Steam Link and Remote Play
Dear internet,

Couldn't find anything so far, so seeking your advice.
Is it possible to use the Meta Quest 3 with Steam Link (wired) to a machine on remote play (machine A) to a different machine in the same household (machine B)?

The reason is that:
- Machine A is a thin client, so can't run games, but has USB-C and is in a vacant area.
- Machine B is able to run games, but is located in a crowded room, >10m away from machine A and doesn't have USB-C.

No. The Steamlink hardware dongle does not support VR. It only supports up to 1080p resolution, which is definitely not enough for any kind of proper VR.

Steam Link as software can in theory do that. Depends on the quality of your network though. VR requires a lot of bandwidth.
You can install SteamLink directly on a Meta Quest. Not sure if Meta Quest 3 is supported yet.

Pardon, I meant the Steam Link as software, not hardware.

So in essence:

Quest 3 via USB-C --> Steam Link --> Machine B --> Ethernet --> Remote Play --> Machine A

Air Link will probably be my last resort, as I'd rather not introduce the extra latency due to only having Wi-Fi5.
