Steamwebhelper is not responding - I can't get into my game library
When I open the game library, Steam freezes and restarts ... there is a short note that "Steamwebhelper is not responding" and ways to overcome the problem

but none of this works unfortunately. Does anyone know the problem and/or a solution?

i have same problems with steamwebhelper
I use Linux Mint and as of yesterday also having this problem. None of the fixes work for me either.

The client updated yesterday and now no longer works, and now can't play any of my games via Steam.

Unfortunately you can't bypass the GUI by runnig the games via the CLI as far as I can tell.

Yeah this seems to be happening to a lot of people lately. People with 2000+ games tend to have this problem more common

try disabling or uninstalling "Razer Synapse" if you got such a program.

^_^

p.s avast anti virus program might also cause conflict with Steam Platform too as it is known to cause False Positives.

I can bypass it by selecting Library > Collections (instead of Home) ... but I hope the problem will be solved soon

yes, that's what I thought too, especially as I've been adding a lot of "free" games recently

Sorry to hear you are running into this.

This issue typically occurs when a third party service that interferes with Steam is running.

You might try checking for interfering programs running and stop running them If you continue to see the issue after stopping any interfering programs, you might try downloading the Steam installer again in order to repair your local Steam installation.

Once you have the installer, run it and select the current file path of your Steam installation. This will make sure that you have all of the correct files in the correct locations, while preserving installed games and other account specific details.

After all of this, if the problem still exists, please let us know.

no, didnt help :(
So, on my Linux comp I had a symlink to my .config directory. This wasn't a problem until the latest update.

I deleted the symlink and moved the .config directory to my user home directory and now steam client now works.

What OS are you using?

Latest beta today only seems to have fixed the issue on Linux.
Still an issue on Windows
