steam purchase is pending but is charged from my bank account

I purchased an item on steam and it charged from my bank acount but I didn't get the game. people online said to cancel and try again and that I would get my money back but that wasnt the case. how do I fix this?

Stop meddling and be patient. Banking transactions aren't always instantaneous. Your purchase being in a pending status isn't some problem you need to solve, or something you can speed up with meddling.

If that doesn't satisfy you, you'd have to talk your bank about why it takes them so long to move money around. They probably won't change their system, so in the end you'll still need to learn some patience.

Your bank account will eventually resolve, and you can try purchasing again. My advice would be wait for the pending transaction to succeed or fail and go from there. If it fails, that would be a question for your bank.

Normally a few hours, but it can take longer.

it also depends on other factors too.

1) you link your payment method to paypal

2) you then used paypal to make purchases on Steam Platform

as a result, you will have to wait really long compare to normal

reason

i) paypal is the middleman in this case for the transaction between your payment method and Steam Platform

perhaps, the money from your bank is already out of your account, but it have to go through paypal first then finally, it will be processed on Steam Platform.

my advice is this

a) next time, use Visa or mastercard to make purchases on Steam Platform, that way, the waiting time won't be very long, also, there won't be any middleman as well

This Same thing happened To me yesterday and I had To just wait. You Will get Your item In one Day, if you won't, contact steam support.
