Friend list privating profile question

So I have a quick question:
Does steam not remove you off other people’s friends list if you private your profile?

Basically, I mean if you have someone on your friends list, you change your profile to private, do you still show up on that friend’s friend list if you remove them while your profile is privated, or does their friendlist not update you of not being their friend until you turn yours off of private

You are still friends until one of you unfriends the other. They will just see a private profile.

Girlfriend I gave a second chance to after I caught her cheating with her ex told me that they unadded their ex, but they were still on their ex’s profile, their own profile being private but kept saying they unadded them so I’m looking for an answer.

i am sorry to hear that OP. if u saw them on their friendlist, it means they are still friends as privacy settings has nothing to do with it. sometimes the servers are slow to update (it can take up to 15min for it to update)
