How do I point steam to an existing library on the same drive?
I'm on a fresh install of windows. Last time my steam was on C: and my library folder was on D:. This time I moved my steam to D: so it's on the same drives as my previous games.

I want to point the steam client to my SteamLibrary folder so I don't have to reinstall all my games.

I've tried to go through Steam>Settings>Storage, select the drive and SteamLibrary folder, but nothing changes even on restart.

My D: looks like this:

D:
|_Steam
|_steam.exe
|_steamapps
|_common
|_[no games]
|_SteamLibrary
|_steamapps
|_common
|_[all my games]

A simple solution might be to just install steam on C: and import the games in from D: but at this point I'm just curious if there's a fix to this.

Close Steam

Cut, Not copy, CUT the contents of the old Steamapps folder (with your games) and paste inside the new D:\Steam\steamapps folder. Won't take long as it's not transferring between drives or creating new data, merely moving them

Load Steam and Steam should see all your games. No need to tweak Steams Library/storage in settings as it already create a library for the drive it installs to.
