Steam says no connection when using 4G hotspot. Any solutions?
I have to use 4G data connection as no wifi is currently available and steam cannot go online while I am connected to it. I have tried changing the APN on my phone since I am using it as a hotspot but it is already set to IPV4/IPV6 (Use either when available). The hotspot is allowing me to access the internet properly, it is just that the PC Steam client is not connecting to the internet.

The issue I have is unusually specific, my isp told me that everything works just fine on their end and it is very possible that my phone has issues. Is there any advice anyone can offer? It is a Xiaomi A1 with android Version 9.

I repeat, it is only the steam client on my pc that's having issues, everything else is working fine.

That's generally because your mobile provider is blocking steam. This is pretty common for mobile providers as they don't want users to tether their phones and obliterate the cell phone towers' bandwidth

As I said I called them and they told me that technically their stuff is fine. Considering what you said, what should I do to allow steam to finally be able to connect? Use a VPN?
