If you have a full set of trading cards from a game you can turn it into a badge ( up to 5 times) for that game.
Each badge/badge level gives 100 XP for your Steam level.
Thats pretty much it.
From Steam level 1-10 its 100 XP for a level up, from 11-20 its 200 XP,
from 21-30 its 300 XP and so on.
So it gets a lot more expensive the higher your level already is to get another level up since you most likely have to buy the trading card sets from the Steam market.
-Buy cards and craft badges
-Participate events that have badges
Each time you get 10 levels, the XP increases by 100.
