Steam's downloading is currently bugged.

I have a 1gbps internet and I have no issues with downloading at full speed with just about anything... except for Steam. Right now I am trying to download a 7gb game and it's about to take hours just because it's not even downloading with a single mb/s while, currently, my internet is at 800mbps. I've seen it's a bug / problem with servers, but re-typing this just to make sure more people are aware of this because it's really annoying, especially when I even formatted and reinstalled everything just to see the exact same issue.

this has been discussed a lot the past couple of days. a lot seem to suggest its Germany only with telekom, but its been reported in other countries as well. not sure whats going on. im hoping it will be fixed automatically soon....

Definitely an issue in other countries as well because I'm from Poland and I've been having this annoying thing going on for weeks now.

Same, just when I decided to clean up my drive on my brand new pc. Changing the server location works for a while but you need to find one that works and if you do, after some time it stops working. Im from Slovakia btw

I have 1Gbps, I limit it to 90MBps, and currently I'm downloading a 9GB update for Cyberpunk 2077 at 63Mbps. Seems pretty normal for me.

My CPU is fine, my disk is fine, I am not using any AV, my ISP is not the problem because I can download at 1gbps literally everywhere except for Steam. If I were limited by any of those things, I'd never be able to reach 100mb/s on steam, but I did manage to reach said values months ago. It's since approximately 2024 that this issue started occurring and I know it's not a problem with my internet or PC because if I use epic games, download League or Legends, use Microsoft store, do a speedtest or download anywhere else my speed is 100% fine.

Edit: even my PS5 or phone download WAY faster using wi-fi

It downloads everywhere at max speed except steam. Obviously, the problem is with steam, or somewhere else because many people are complaining. But it's not a problem with us, I'm sure of that.

It's not my ISP. I've already tested 3 different connections and the download is broken on all of them. It either works well on all 3 or it doesn't work on any of them.
One is 1gbps, the other is 100mbps and the last one is 40mbps - all 3 were stuck at downloading the game at 400-700kb/s today.
