I have a problem accepting a gift from South America

My friend decided to send me Palworlds as a gift, however it does not appear in my notification in steam (but I did receive an email) and steam client hasn't helped. He is in South America and I am in Europe. Does that matter in any case for this game?

Try using a browser, log into Steam and accepting the gift either using your email in the same browser or the gift notification in Steam.

I have already tried that and it doesn't work. It says this:

"An error was encountered while processing your request:

There was a problem redeeming the gift. Please try again later, or contact Steam Support for assistance."

Your friend can gift you a digital gift card in the monetary numeration necessary to buy Palworld with if they still want to gift it to you:

That's a publisher decision. If your friend still wants to gift you the game, they should gift you a digital gift card instead. Those work cross-region with currency conversion.
Once you redeem this digital gift card, it's monetary value will be added to your Steam Wallet, which in turn allows you to buy Palworld yourself.

In addition, if the regional price difference is more than +/- 10% between two regions, gifting won't work either.

you can't gift games that are from South America to North America.

you can't Gift Games that are South America to Europe.

you can't gift Games from SE Asia to China.

you can't Gift Games from China to the rest of the world.
