"Screenshot taken" notification plays every single time I open steam
Everytime I launch steam (either from a full computer close or just from restarting the steam application itself) all of my screenshots sync at once, resulting in an endless stream of the "screenshot taken" notification on the bottom right of my monitor. Disabling screenshot notifications doesn't do anything (and seemingly resets everytime I restart steam anyways) and the notifications are large and obstruct the bottom right of my screen for almost 30 minutes, what do?

I've reinstalled steam multiple times and even moved it to a different drive and it still happens.

Dont know but one suggestion> open steam top left settings>Cloud>disable the 2nd one .Where it says Open the screenshot manager after closing.
Look in the settings for in Game. > scroll down to Screenshots, when screenshots are taken show a notification turn that one off. It looks like a latency when that notifiction should appear straight after the screenshot is taken. Maybe disabling ir for now.
Then clear your downloads cache for Steam requires a log in and web cache not cookies.

I just figured out how to fix it for anyone who comes across this issue. For me, it happened when my PC crashed while I was taking a screenshot.

The dumbed down way that anyone can understand is as follows: to fix it, open your games library, pick a game (literally any), and open the screenshot manager. Select a screenshot, and at the top of the manager click the "show on disk" icon in the top left by the game name. It'll open the folder, and follow the folders backwards until you get to one that just has a folder called "remote" and "screenshots.vdf" displayed. Drag that remote folder on to your desktop. Fully exit out of steam and redrag that remote folder back to where it was, and open steam back up. Congrats, you have now fixed it and have all your screenshots back where they should be.

How very odd. Take some points.

Make sure the same "remote" folder inside the Steam folder is deleted after copying it to the Desktop, THEN exit Steam and THEN copy the "remote" folder back into the Steam folder and THEN start up Steam. Helped me.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
