a wise lesson, thanks guys. it was a knife and some items probably together a 100 but nothing much. appreciate everyones fast response.

Fear and greed are powerful motivators, scammers rely on them a lot. Very few legitimate interactions between customers and businesses are going to use such things. And I'd go so far to say that applies to most circumstances in life. You may be caught off guard, or unfamiliar with specific scams, but underneath all the window dressing it all ends up being the same formula.

Let me add some more information to the subject,
This person also changed my full steam name, account, blocked friends and created a trade to my friend on my own account to send my items to a different person.
That means your account is already compromised and they are scaring you into trading something.
Which it seems they did successfully. Your items are gone.

Hijacked, not hacked. You leaked your account credentials somehow.

Do not trade until your account is secured.

Take the following steps to secure your account:

1. Scan for malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a clean computer.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key (there should be no key). https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey

Steam does not return inventory items or wallet funds: https://help.steampowered.com/faqs/view/3B6E-B322-2400-8D24

If you no longer have access to your account, read this:

Because your account is compromised. And you're being scammed/hijacked, secure your account.

Valve is never going to need you to trade items to a friend. They don't need to manage your items like that. Regardless what details you add, it's still a scam, and your account is compromised. 100% guaranteed.

That means your account is further hijacked. Do the steps provided in response #6. The scammers changed your info, added themselves to your friends list and then contacted you as part of this fabrication. It's an ancient scam.
You can also change your name back by editing your profile and also add a profile picture. It's as easy as that.
