Windows Surface Pro 7 - graphics freeze in landscape, are fine in portrait

Hi all,

I play games on a Microsoft Surface Pro 7 and I'm having a weird problem with some Steam games that appeared out of nowhere today. If I load them up in the usual landscape mode, the display freezes, but the game carries on running (I can hear audio and controls work but I can't see what's going on). If I turn the laptop 90 degrees, the display switches to portrait and starts working fine. If I turn it back to normal landscape, it freezes again. Obviously I can't really play games in portrait mode.

Even if the game is in windowed mode, the game window still freezes if the monitor is in landscape and works fine if it's turned to portrait.

I've had no problems with this laptop for a year or two since I got it, nothing's been changed, it's completely out of the blue.

It happens with some games (Rogue Legacy 2, Death's Door, Dave The Diver) but not others (Binding of Isaac, Blasphemous, Hades). Newer games seem more likely to have the issue, but there's no rhyme or reason.

Any ideas how to fix it? I've tried uninstalling Steam completely and reinstalling from scratch - no change. I've already checked Windows Update and I don't think there's anything else I can update.

I don't suppose you ever found a solution for this? every other solution I found doesn't seem to work

Ask own Brand Product support, don't expect "Windows Surface Pro 7" pro is supported anymore.

I think i did see some post with MS issue at win10 half year ago maybe

win 10 is already on its way for lifecycle has ended, and those issue dont seem to get fixed.

Feel free to reset own OS to make sure its not a system issue, other then that then i doubt MS will do anything about it until time is up.

The msg of forum i read it on said same thingy, its not me that say it.

Be lucky if a tech dude have a clue what you can do about it, and then i and other dont have the gear, we can't help you.
