Slow download speed
I have a 30+ Mbps internet connection, but when I try to download games on Steam, the download speed is less than 1 Mbps. Interestingly, when I started downloading a game from my another laptop, the download speed on my main PC increased to normal levels. However, it decreased again when I started downloading a new game. I've observed this phenomenon several times. What's going on?

Same 100+ Mbps and i am downloading with 700 Kbps
I have the same issue.
Deutsche Telekom seems to throttle Steam on IPv4. Try using a german VPN server if you are affected.

Tested it using my own fiber line as VPN (using Telekom VDSL here and fiber with a different ISP at another place), had no speed issues after i did that.

Thanks! No more speed issues.
Steam can obliterate 1gbps connections

Steam during the Baldur's Gate 3 launch was pushing 150Tbps. It pushed more data just through Europe than Steam does on a normal day globally

Your steam downloads are limited by

* Your CPU
* Your GPU
* Your anti-virus
* Your ISP

Pick one

the usual cause go into Steam/settings/downloads and change your region to a nearby region. If it speeds up stick with it. Your D/L cache and free storage may also have an effect.
