Someone gave me a steam gift card link, i entered my account and stuff but it said error. and when i clicked it, it said that i had to wait 3 business days. its been 5-7 business days and i havent arived :(

The restriction is only for using the funds on the Market.

That sounds like the scam.

What did the message from your friend say? Pay attention to the spelling in the link itself.

I ask because a gift card sent through Steam will look like a normal gift and not a link.

He scammed you and you are likely friended with a compromised account.

STOP ANYTHING ALTOGETHER. NOW.

Your account is compromised. Anything you will trade over IS GONE.

You exposed your login credentials to a site that faked a Steam login and made a bot log into your account using the save password feature while injecting a Steam API access into it.

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)
6. Change your trade link: Profile > your inventory > trade offer > Who can send me trade offer > scroll down and make a new trade link.

Be aware that Steam Support will not restore stolen items nor stolen wallet funds.
In accordance with Section 1 C of the Steam Subscriber Agreement, you are responsible for all actions on your account, no matter who used the account.

The hijacker may read your chat logs with him and try to convince you that you are talking with the real one, though.

Report your friends account for being compromised and sending scam links. Have your friend secure their account.
