Does this email belong to Steam ([e-mail])

He said my account was hacked and facing lockdown, but he did not provide any official proof. The email address used was Gmail

Pretty sure any email from Steam would be from steampowered.com. Also, any email from them would include your login name as that's not publicly displayed on your account.

Secondly accounts used to scam are already compromised accounts as the scammer does not use their own account.

Why would steam only email you instead of notifying you on the app as well, I don’t know steam email addresses , but that doesn’t look real . You can contact steam from the app itself and ask them if ur really concerned.
