accidentally bought a duplicate game???

Bf accidentally bought me another digital copy of cities: skylines (original) instead of cities: skylines II. He bought it on Amazon digitally. The product code registered to my account when I entered it, even though I already own the game. Now I am not sure what to do. Is it even possible to own 2 digital copies of the game? is there any hope I can get cities:II in place of the duplicate? I can't seem to find any evidence of my product code being redeemed at all since it's a duplicate. any advice would be appreciated.

if the code added any content to the game, the key gets used up. you dont get extra copies of games from keys. there is little that can be done, steam has nothing to do with this issue since they didnt sell the game to your bf.

Sounds like you've got some dlcs, check if any of them were added while you've entered the code.
