EasyAntiCheat (EAC) is preventing me from playing games using it.

I just got a new rig, Ryzen 9 7900X, Nvidia RTX 4070, Windows 10 22H2. It's nice. What isn't nice however, is any game using EAC or presumably even BattlEye won't let me play it. Just doesn't boot and gives me "EAC isn't installed, error code 30005". This is happening both with Rust and 7 Days To Die.

I don't have any antivirus enabled, Windows Defender is off. I have added EAC as a firewall exception. I've added my Steam folders as exceptions to Windows Defender. I have reinstalled both games at least twice now. I've verified game file integrity at least three times now.

I've gone into the game file directory and launched EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe in the EasyAntiCheat folder multiple times, making sure to run it as Administrator. I've disabled Memory Integrity in the Core Isolation tab of Device Security in Windows Security.

I've wasted nearly four hours troubleshooting this Godforsaken anti-cheat. And no, obviously, I am not using cheats. I literally just got this computer, and no, reinstalling Windows is not something I am going to do.

I have a feeling it's "Kernel-Mode Hardware-Enforced Stack Protection" causing the issue, but it isn't showing up in Windows Defender. Also, isn't this supposed to be an important security feature? Why on God's green Earth is common advice to just disable it? Shouldn't the anti-cheat devs have fixed this by now? Christ almighty.

Anyway, anyone else gone through this gauntlet and have suggestions on how to fix it? I'd like to try out Rust, it looks fun.

do you have any 3rd party programs that take controls of your System Settings?????

this includes Graphics card driver settings, in-game settings........etc.

kindly remove those programs.

The only thing I've suspected is AMD Adrenalin but it's the latest version, on a previous version there was a bug that caused this issue, though there's no reason this should be conflicting now, or at least I'd hope so :s

Edit: And nah, deleting that .sys file didn't work, but it was worth a shot I guess.

I tried several more things including screwing with some regedit stuff and even more stuff with the bcdedit command in Command Prompt. I've asked around and also emailed Rust support who basically just told me to reinstall Windows. I'm not doing that just to get this failed abortion of an anticheat to let me play the game. No thanks, so, I've refunded the game. Screw this. After over 10 hours of trying to fix this, I give up.

p.s even razer synapse keeps on causing VAC Error when playing uses it while playing CS:GO which is now known as CS 2.

the games that the game developers created, they are not 100000000% compatible with programs like

1) razer synapse

2) AMD Adrenalin

...........etc.

some more AMD Adrenalin is taking control of your entire CPU which means it has access to the first level of Kernel system on your computer.

I just checked if I have it installed and I'm pretty sure I don't. There's no other software running that should be causing this issue.

Let's see here...

1. First, Perform Some Preliminary Checks
- Are you using any hacking software of files to gain an advantage in the game? If so, you should remove them.
- Close any other program running alongside the game.
- Close any graphics optimization software you are using.
- Have you made any modifications to the game files? If you've done any, you should reinstall the game unless you know how to reverse these changes.

No, Done, I don't use any of those, and No.

2. Delete the EasyAntiCheat.Sys File
Tried this multiple times and again just now, didn't work before, didn't work now.

3. Repair Any Corrupted Game Files
I've verified game file integrity via Steam multiple times, and did so again just now, didn't work.

4. Whitelist Easy Anti-Cheat in Windows Defender or Antivirus
I did this, didn't work.

5. Disable Kernel-Mode Hardware-Enforced Stack Protection
This isn't an option in Windows Defender, it's not displayed.

6. Ensure the Easy Anti-Cheat Service Is Running
This doesn't work, and this service isn't even supposed to be runnable manually I'm pretty sure.

7. Repair the Easy Anti-Cheat Program
EasyAntiCheat's Setup file doesn't run or display anything for me. It doesn't work.

8. Reinstall Easy Anti-Cheat

No, it's not fixed.

Honestly anything anyone can suggest I have f**king tried, okay? I've tried everything. The best help I've gotten so far was from TerraTech: Worlds' dev team who pointed out that overclocking my GPU caused crashes in Unity Engine 5 games. That's fixed now, but EasyAntiCheat, the ONLY progress I've had so far is the fact RoboCraft can run somehow. I can't play 7 Days To Die or Rust.
