Friend owns game but I don’t see they own it on my end?
I have a friend who bought the just released Palworld game.

The problem is that on my end, I don’t see them owning that game. They even showed me screenshot proof that they own it on their end.

Is this a bug? Is there a way to fix this?

Steam had an update where gifted games would automatically be set to Private.
This could be a bug with your friend's library.
Tell your friend to check their Library settings:
Steam - settings - Account tab - Privacy settings

There should be a field that looks like this:

Inventory:Public
Your inventory includes items you've received in games that use Steam Trading. It also includes any Steam Trading Cards you've collected and extra copies or Steam Gifts.

Always keep Steam Gifts private even if users can see my inventory.

Ahhh so that's the culprit. I asked them to see if they can unprivate their owned game and now I can see it displayed on their profile as their playtime hours.
