xbox series x controller issues with d-pad

There are problems with the controller: Steam itself and games in it don't register arrow keys press on D-pad. At the same time, in online gamepad testers and in 'xbox accessories' all clicks are registering. The problem is with steam. And this happened exactly today. Yesterday all worked just fine. Any ideas what happened and how to fix it?

Solved. I found a thread with a similar problem and the advice there helped. Pasting it here, maybe it will help someone
Go to Steam settings to controller:
- uninstal the Xbox support in the controller
- uninstal the Xbox Extended Feature Support Driver

It's a bug in the current beta, it would have been way easier to just disable SteamInput.
