2. If you are in Canada, Mastercard stopped supporting purchases on Steam years ago. Read the OP's post carefully...

tl;dr... Mastercard no longer provide access to using pre-paid cards on Steam, at least in Canada.
I ended up calling the credit card company, (they were closed last night) and apparently they put a hold on it because they were worried about fraud.
Not sure if you ever got yours to work. I can't get virtual prepaid mastercards to work directly on steam, or through adding them to paypal wallet.
The only way around I found so far is using the prepaid mastercard on the Gamestop website. You can buy digital steam wallet codes there for $20 or $50. Big surprise that Gamestop is less scrupulous when it comes to getting money /s.
P.S. Anyways thought I'd put this here for any other bloke out of luck.
P.P.S. Any steam support reading this line can suck my nuts.
Mastercard put the restriction on using their cards on Steam because of all the people getting scammed and using those cards to pay "ransom" to the hijackers.
