HELP my friends Sims 3 launcher has a virus!!!
My friend just got a new PC and everytime he clicks on the launcher for the Sims 3 he gets pop ups advertisements and script errors he uninstalled and reinstalled it and webroot and malware bytes says theres no issues please help i have no idea what to do!!!!!

and then McAfee keeps showing up (i dont know why he still has it installed i told him to uninstall that and now we cant even find it in programs and features)

he doesnt know alot about computers this is his first computer ever and hes 18! it was a gift from his family he also isnt the best at reading and i have no idea what to do for him at this point thats why im asking the steam community

The computer is infected with a rogue antivirus.
yeah sadly his entire pc and crashed it when we ran another anti-virus he had to factory reset the whole computer it was the only way to save it but it works fine now but thank you atleast i know what the cause is now he didnt have very good anti-virus but hes getting better anti virus now his girlfriends going to buy it for him and he has a free trial of it right now so he should be ok were currently reinstalling steam and skype ect ect

Never use the AV That comes with the pc they are never anygood and more likely causes more problems then it solves.. Speaking from experiance.. Or anything "free" for that matter.

Tell your friend to pay for sims 3 next time.
he did pay for sims 3 and Finn i will DEFINITLY remind him to uninstall free software about 6 more times lol

yeah this is his first computer ever!! so hes bound to make some mistakes but thats apart of the learning process!
