Screen tearing when scrolling on Steam client
Anyone else getting weird screen tearing happening when scrolling through pages on Steam? This didn't happen to me yesterday so I wonder what's up.

Same here. I tried disabling and enableing DirectWrite, and I tried forcing V-sync on in my GFX driver, but it still tears.

Although, it doesn't happen with my mouse wheel, just when I scroll with the bar on the side.

Same thing, I just switched from 6850 to gtx 960, 1/4 at bottom of screen, when the steam background changes color...
No tearing in games...
It happened to me the same time, judging by the day of my post about this. I think it could be an nVidia update that is causing issues. All the updates lately seem to be for VR and Oculus Rift.

I also have this problem. I have GTX 970 and using Windows 10. Screen tearing occurs in Steam client when scrolling using scrollbar. Haven't found any fix. I susspect it's NVIDA driver issues.

I have this issue as well. Have the latest Nvidia drivers and a GTX 970. It's happening when I scroll with my mouse wheel.

I'm also using/have the Razer Synapse software; along with a Razer moue and keyboard.

Downloaded the latest Nividia driver yesterday and I am getting this as well.
If it really bothers you, use Steam in a window, not full screen, and make sure there's some space on the sides. If you lessen the width of the window enough it goes away.

Was there a Smooth Scrolling feature added? I noticed once I restarted my client that it now is in Smooth Scroll.

On other applications Smooth Scrolling can cause Screen Tearing. And considering lots of us are seeing it this si likely the reason why.

I can not find a feature to disable smooth scrolling. Anyone else?

I'm using a GTX 980Ti and experiencing what the OP has, not using beta either. Also using the latest Nvidia driver. It does not happen on Chrome or games.

I'm using a GTX 970 too and am not experiencing this problem at all... but then I very rarely use the beta because I prefer stability over features I'll never use. Last time I used the beta was when broadcasting was introduced. As soon broadcasting landed in the stable build, I switched back.

This has nothing to do with the beta, dumb-ass. It's something that affects nVidia users.

By the way, I'm currently using driver version 364.72; but, about to update to 365.10 - maybe there problem will be fixed. (again these are release drivers and not beta)

Haha, nah, it doesn't change ♥♥♥♥. My guess is this is way under nVidia's radar, unless a ton of Steam users complain they won't notice.

Yeah I've got driver version 364.72(I never usually get the latest released driver, get the one before it) released from Nvidia as well and I'm getting the minor but annoying problem of screen tear on bottom half of steam client whilst scrolling fast. Would like it to be fixed though in update on steam or with new driver from Nvidia. Thankfully its not effecting games or browsing the net or anything else for that matter. Not using Steam beta either btw. :)

I had this issue last month, was the Nvidia driver causing it, after the next driver update released, it vanished.

Ok guys so i figured it out(i think). dudes in nvidia fck*d up drivers since 362 and now they conflict with Aero in windows( desktop composition )./ if you disable it tearing should go away(but windows will be *boring*). you can check this in Chrome by disabling* use hardware acceleration *in options - screen teraing will appear like in steam. The only solution for now is go to 361.43 or disable aero effects(desktop composition) ( or just fck it, not a big problem). Also if you run Chrome (with acceleration on) and steam at a same time, screen tearing should go away in steam(*magic*). gtx970
We just need hardware acceleration in Steam like in Chrome and this will go away.
