Steam Desktop Icon Link Image
I created a Desktop Icon for a game installed on my machine. It appeared on my desktop and works just fine, the image on the icon matches the game.

I created another icon for another game, but this time the icon image is just a blank white "page". I found that odd and went looking. I have reset the icon cache in windows and that did nothing.

I have seen people mention that I should just create a new icon directly from the game's folder wherever it is installed... But that is a bit pointless because that icon would point directly to the EXE and not the "steam://rungameid/########" which includes various nice features like game update checking and such.

So I opened the working icon in Notepad and the non-working icon in Notepad and found the working one went to look in the "steam\games\<some long hex number>.ico" folder for the icon file. The one with the broken icon doesn't, it is blank. When I went to the folder, there are a few .ico files as well as some .exe files that contain icons.

How do I rebuild the icon cache within Steam for all installed Steam games/applications? I just need the .ico files.

I wish help would address this issue as many people (including myself) are having issues with desktop link not working (Windows10).
Same here, except none of my steam desktop linnks work any more. They are just files with .url extension that does nothing and can't be fixed afaik.
