Steam Controller Delivery Issue
I recently ordered my Steam Controller. After a couple of days, I tried to track my package and saw this message in the GLS site:
"The parcel remains in the GLS depot. It cannot be delivered as the goods are excluded from transport by GLS terms & conditions." -Germany Neuenstein

I contacted my local GLS partner (ACS- Greece), and they told me that GLS Germany does not transfer packages that include batteries.

In a new update, GLS site says that my parcel will be returned to sender.

Anyone else had the same problem? If yes, what did you do to get your controller?

I would contact steam support directly, as this seem their issue.

I did, and it proved not to be much of a help. I got a generic "If it's undeliverable, you will get a refund". When I asked if there is any way for me to get the controller, like if they can send it with a different company than GLS, the response was "All available info have been provided"

What I want is a way to get the controller, not a refund. But they didn't seem to get that.

Did you use any kind of P/O box, parcel shop, or is the adress a mismatch to your billing adress? Was there any kind of delivery attempt, but you weren't home?

I don't think it's the included batteries (but i might be wrong).

The same rule applies here in the UK using the generic post office. Courries will deliver the item with batteries, but it's against the post office's terms, so they won't deliver it.

But if you buy a pack of a batteries from amazon UK they will deliver it?
(this seriously confuses the hell out of me right now)

Yes, they will. But not through the generic post office, only through a courier.

No P. O. Box in address. There was no delivery attempt, the parcel is not even in my country yet. I tried to contact GLS, no response yet.

What is weird to me is that even though there must be thousands of controllers sold, after googling I only found one other person who had the same problem.

They told me that if they get the package back, they will give me a full refund. The thing is that I just want to get that damn controller, and I can't believe that there is no way to get it. There must be a way, and all I asked them was to tell me what I have to do. If they cannot help me, I 'll just get the Xbox controller and to hell with them

This issue with carriers not wishing to deliver batteries is becoming more commonplace. It seems odd that Steam wouldn't begin to offer the option to receive the item without the batteries. Anyway, for what it's worth I personally found the controller to not be very impressive. I played with a friend's not long ago and didn't see what all the fuss was about. The "pads" for your thumbs felt like they required to much pressure to operate (I expected something far more sensitive than what feels essentially like a sunken d-pad buried under a thin sheet of rubber) and I didn't see anything about it that stood out or that would cause me to want to purchase one.

If the matter is not settled by Friday, XBox One Controller it is.

Honestly, I am really disappointed by Steam.
