Steam Mobile Authenticator - I lost my old SIM! D:

So, to not blab on too much I'll tell you the story in a very concise fashion.

- I get a new SIM card, old one is deactivated.
- Try to use mobile authenticator.
- Steam Account is linked to old phone number.
- Oh, no, I can't remove my old number.
- Move House, throw away old SIM, it's useless
- When internet is back on in new house, ask Steam Support for help
- Please verify your old phone number and we can remove it.
- Threw away the SIM, can't get it.
- ♥♥♥♥.

02 support (the provider of which my old SIM was on) asks for the phone number of the user asking for support, so 02 is out of the window when it comes for asking for help.

I need help here, and I'm pretty much stuck.
I don't remember far enough from the creation of my Steam account to give every peice of information about it to verify that it's me.

The Mobile Authentication system is becoming almost mandatory within Steam now and without this I am really stuck.

Any assistance would be of upmost appreciation.

You will either need to get a phone with the same number, or provide proof of ownership. Steam cannot remove the old phone number without verifying you are the legitimate owner of the account. I'm sorry.

Well, this is a huge slap to the face. Are there any alternate methods of verification? For example my device history?

But if you cannot provide any of that, add a reply to your open ticket and explain the situation, ask if there is anything else you can provide.

i'm sorry to hear about that but i got that happen too,i buy one new sim and i just throw away my old sim into a trash can in shopping mall then i find out this phone number can't change make me feel scare and anxious

This is an issue long past sorted. Sorry, seems I managed to find my old number from a relative's phone number and verify that I am me to Steam support...
