Previously, My son donated me a copy of PORTAL... Was really looking forward to playing that - But as it uses STEAM for Multiplayer - The CD Key already being registered means I have a Useless game!
Here is the IRONY given that STEAM insist on this for Copy Protection... I contacted STEAM and asked them if there was a work around... And they actually told me TO DOWNLOAD A CRACK FROM GAME COPY WORLD!!!!
So in efforts to STOP PIRACY, STEAM PROMOTES PIRACY!!!
I honestly wish this was a joke!!! Personally, I feel if you can PROVE you have a Genuine Copy of a game - Second hand or otherwise - that has already had its key registered to another Steam Account... The Key should be REMOVED from the Account it was previously registered to!
At least I bought my copy of DoWII form a Charity Store so I lost hardly anything - But CeX KNOW BETTER!!! And YES - TAKE NO EXCUSES - THEY OWE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK!
Keys are one use items. Steam owes you nothing, you don’t buy keys from steam.
But the key *IS* the licence ... and it's been registered to another account.
Damn ... ninja'd
Calling ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on this, outright. No one from Steam Support told you this. Ever.
