Far Cry Primal Bad Stuttering
I just bought Far Cry Primal and am experiencing bad stuttering as soon as I get in. It will be occasional at first where the frames will drop from 60 which is what I have locked it at to 30 for less than a second then immediately go back up to 60. Does anyone know any fixes or any way to troubleshoot what this could be caused by as it happens in some of my other games as well?

PC Specs
Msi GTX980Ti Lightning
Quad core - I7-4770 @ 3.40GHz
8GB RAM
MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard

Windows 8.1 64 bit

Excuse me?

Your recent playtime says Far Cry 4; not Far Cry: Primal.

In fact, the Steam -account you're posting with doesn't own Far Cry: Primal.

Should this be about that, you should probably ask here:

which is what I have locked it
Do note that some games, with Vertical Sync, lock the FPS to 30 if it wanders between 30 and 59.

See how your framerate is without the Vsync?

The game has horrible optimization, as is evident by the reviews. The biggest killer is typically going to be shading, and ambient lighting effects. Lower those if you haven't already. Check both V-Sync options, see if it runs better with or without the FPS lock.

It may not fix it, so you're going to have to toy around with the options a lot and see what works best for you and your system.

Yeh I fixed it by disabling super fetch as I think I had a problem with disk usage.

It's a technology microsoft implemented to cache ram with recurrent data that programs use often.

I had some stuttering and maybe even screen tearing, v-sync fixed it. Game seems a bit slower at times but way smoother and definitely fast enough for the action.

Even have the HD texture pack on and Ultra settings, didn't expect my crappy PC to be able to handle it, but I do have a GTX 1060 6gb, only good thing about my PC, CPU is a AMD Phenom 9550 @ 2.2

Looks way better than it did on xbone
