How put a controller in steam to play compatible games with it

First launch Steam Client > then go to Settings > Account > opt into Steam Beta and restart the Client when asked. Once logged into Steam Client, load up BigPictureMode and then connect your Steam Controller. Steam Client is needed to get the Drivers for the Controller as well as perform Firmware updates to it.
