white screen when watching video in full screen mode

white screen when watching video in full screen mode

when i check out a game and try watch the trailer i click full screen then the whole screen just becomes white until i press escape to exit the full screen mode is there anyfix? i have this problem for months and not an update fixed it i am using windows 10 by the way and i am using laptop as well

You can try the proposed solution here: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/846940249125110403/ Though I just setup windows 10 on a laptop and am running in that same issue, which these did not fix for me.

hello which solution did you use? i tried the DPI solution they mentioned "didnt work" for the font size idk how to change in windows 10

i just changed to windows 10 and im having the same issues... i hope the is a solution soon

Ok so steams videos used to work fine and i dont remember when this started but its deffinately been going on for a few months now.

windows 10 pro
i3 2350m
intel HD3000
4gb ram

its a cheap laptop but it used to full screen videos just fine.

I tried uninstalling everything and doing different codecs ETC turning of hardware acceleration in flash. Nothing works. I noticed that when you press ESC you see the video in fullscreen playing back for half a second.

Has anyone found out why this happens yet?

im sick of uninstalling and reinstalling things.

trust me my freind the same problem for me also i guess we have to wait till steam sees this

I'm also encountering this. I use my laptop to browse the store and for general internet time wasting because my gaming pc is hooked to my living room tv which is not where I want to look for new games. Kinda makes this a major problem for for me.

I encountered white screen in trailer full-screen mode immediately after upgrading to Win 10.
This is nothing to do with font size.
I think everyone who upgraded to Win 10 encountered the same problem.
Has anyone found a solution?

There is no fix for this problem on Steam in Win 10 yet, but you can start a trailer in Steam, then pause and 'Right Click' then 'Copy Page URL', then paste into web browser. This allows you to watch the trailer in full-screen, just not in Steam.
