Steam VR Performance Test graphics card problem

I ran the steam VR performance test to find that it had only tested my integrated graphics, and not used my card at all.

I found the executable for the test, and when I tried to run it with the graphics card through the context menu, I got this error:

VR - Error! SteamVR failed inialization with error code:
VRInitError_Init_PathRegistryNotFound "Installation path could not be located (110)"


My system:

Intel i7-4700MQ 2.4 GHz
8.0 GB RAM
64-bit Windows 10
GeForce GT 755M
