Logitech G930 Headset - No Surround Sound - Windows 10
Hello All,

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and I have found that by Logitech G930 headset no longer has surround sound. If I go into the G930 properties in Win 10 Audio Device Manager and try to launch the "Logitech Gaming Software", it will not even start. I show that I have 2 channel sound by having my RealTek drivers set to DEFAULT COMMUNICATION DEVICE and my G930 Headset set to DEFAULT DEVICE. If I change my DEFAULT DEVICE to the AMD HTMI OUTPUT, then I hear nothing through the headset.

I would think the LGS software should load in the right Win 10 taskbar on boot up or after trying to run but it does not.

I have not found anything concrete in forums that looks like it will work. Some folks suggest going far back for the Logitech drivers but I would rather not.

Does anybody have a G930 headset and have the surround sound working on Windows 10? If so, how did you do it?

Thanks in advance!!!

Try reinstalling the software for it and please choose the right OS bit (64-bit or 32-bit)!

Thank you Blackwolf but I had already done that. I should have mentioned it...my bad. The G930 drivers are from 01/2016 - v8.79.51.0. 64bit.

Hmmm.... I think you should ask on the Logitech Forums, cuz this kinda seems a problem with the hardware and Windows 10.
After tried everything, this worked for me:
-Unplug the receiver of G930 from usb port.
-Go to control panel -> devices and printer and delete all G930 devices (it is more than one if you use different usb ports)
-Uninstall Logitech Gaming Software.
-Restart your PC.
-Plug the receiver of G930 to any usb port and wait for the auto installation of driver. DO NOT INSTALL f*cking LOGITECH GAMING SOFTWARE!
-Now surround should work.

LOL thank you. I have 7.1 sound working now in Windows but it is not activated in the LOGITECH GAMING SOFTWARE. Interesting. I recently updated the latest drivers. Anywho, I think it is working in Surround again. I don't think I will be messing with the LOGITECH drivers again since I am not sure what I did to fix the issue.

OK here's the fix. Essentially we have to wipe ALL traces of Logitech software\drivers\files\folders and registry settings then we can reinstall Logitech Gaming Software. Simply Uninstalling the Program and reinstalling WILL NOT WORK IN MOST CASES. So follow these instructions EXACTLY! Ok so here we go!

1st right click on start menu and select "device manager" and expand "sound, video and controllers" . Right-click on "Logitech **** Gaming Headset" and select uninstall then Tick "Delete the driver software for this device"

2nd right click start menu and select settings.. \apps\apps and features then select Logitech Gaming Software and Uninstall it THEN UNPLUG Headset and USB Headset Dongle and RESTART

3rd Go to C:\Users.. then select your user login folder then click on the address bar and at the end of the current listed directory type in app data (E.G. C:\Users\LoginNameHere\appdata) In here you want to open 2 folders... 1st open "Local" and delete "Logitech" folder, 2nd go back to appdata directory and open "Roaming" and again delete "Logitech folder"

4th go to directories that Logitech was installed (usually BOTH c:\program files AND c:\program files (x86) ) and delete both Logitech Folders there

5th Hold windows key on keyboard and press R (this will bring up the Run command), type in "regedit" and press enter. In this registry you will be deleting 2 Logitech Folder Directories. The First 1 is located

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Logitech and the second:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Logitech

Delete BOTH of these Logitech folder Directories

NOW.... Install latest Logitech gaming software and RESTART after it is done installing. THEN and ONLY THEN can you plug your headset and usb headset dongle back in and Wah-La! Good as new!

If Logitech is reading this, I would strongly consider your company create a Cleaner program to fully wipe all traces of your software for instances like these, or at least add an option to wipe all previous settings in future updates to cut down on Trouble Tickets!

Here is what worked for me:

I have uninstalled the program Logitech gaming with a program called revo uninstaller (which does most of the of what comment #6 suggests), unplugged the device, removed all devices related to G930 in device manager and installed Logitech gaming again which will restart the computer. After the OS is up plugged the device and restarted again.
